Who decides what’s funny and what’s not?
You do. And here’s what you do about it.
I watched part of the 2022 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Most of the so-called humor didn’t amuse me.
Given that I’m a conservative, that’s probably not surprising. But I didn’t find many of the jokes targeted at liberals funny, either.
Some were dumb. Some were insulting. Some were designed to embarrass their target. Some were just plain mean.
I wasn’t enjoying it.
So you know what I did?
I turned it off.
I stopped watching.
The people who were being entertained and wanted to continue to watch could continue to do so. That’s their right.
Back to my title question: Who decides what’s funny and what’s not?
The audience does.
If you’re enjoying (or at least appreciating) what’s being said, you keep watching.
If you’re not, turn it off.
But don’t try to silence the speakers.
