In the marketplace, we do a lot of planning. We have business plans, marketing plans, production plans, financial plans, and more. But none of those plans is as important as our own personal spiritual growth plans.

Use these steps to develop your spiritual growth plan:

Define spiritual growth. Understand what spiritual growth is beyond the superficial warm and fuzzy to what it really means to be a spiritually mature Christian.

Set goals. What are you going to do to achieve spiritual growth? Write that down. Be specific and include deadlines.

Identify your resources. Growing spiritually is not a solitary exercise. Who (other people) and what (books, studies, etc.) will you use to help?

Evaluate your progress. Regularly return to your goals and see how you’re doing. Make adjustments and add new goals as necessary.

Model your growth and mentor others. Be a model of someone who is growing spiritually for others to emulate. Spiritual growth can be contagious — let others catch it from you. Take that down to a finer level by becoming a mentor to someone who is also seeking spiritual growth.
