A while back I wrote a brief essay on why I don’t share stories riddled with profanity. It’s a policy I also apply to social media posts. You can read it here:

I knew when I published that story that not everyone would agree with me. If you read through the comments, you’ll see at least one exchange I had with a reader who had a different point of view. We had a civil discussion about it.

Today, someone left this response:

I’ve chosen not to engage with her.

As I said in my original story, I’m not asking anyone to change the way they speak or write, I’m just explaining why I may not share their content.

In this case, I think she made my point. She may have an interesting perspective but she apparently felt compelled to muddy it up with profanity.
