I’ve written a number of stories about how important it is for your slogan and other marketing messages to be clear and say what you intend.

Do you know how some of the more famous company and product slogans evolved? Here’s some interesting trivia I found in a great infographic:

  • In 1900, Coca-Cola’s slogan was “For headache and exhaustion, drink Coca-Cola”
  • In 1903, Pepsi’s slogan was “Exhilarating, Invigorating, Aids Digestion”
  • Maxwell House has used the same slogan, “Good to the last drop,” for 97 years
  • FedEx has had six different slogans since 1978; the current “The world on time” was introduced in 2009
  • According to legend, Nike’s “Just do it” motto was inspired by a death-row inmate’s final words
