I was barely aware of who Kid Rock was in 2008 when he did something that was all I needed to know to form an opinion of his character.

Why am I remembering this now?

Appearing on Tucker Carlson Tonight (March 21, 2022), Kid Rock said he was “uncancelable” because “I don’t give a f***” and that he is independent because he doesn’t have corporate sponsorship deals.

No one should ever be canceled.

No one should ever be canceled. And no one should ever have to self-censor because of the risk of being canceled. The cancel culture is dangerous and it’s killing true diversity. But back to Kid Rock.

He’s certainly done some things I don’t approve of and some things I applaud.

During a 2004 Super Bowl halftime show appearance, he cut a hole in an American flag and wore it as a poncho. Not cool.

During a 2016 performance in Boston, he blasted Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the national anthem. Way cool.
