Should we never mention faith-based holidays?
I shared the first chapter of my novel, Choices, in Illumination Book Chapters:
Last week, I wondered if we’d ever know why Tiger Woods crashed his car. Now we do:
If you want someone to do something, thank them for it in advance.
Before the political campaigns gear up for 2022, keep this in mind:
Just because you have the right to say it doesn’t mean you should.
Suffering from writer’s block? Kimberley Payne has some suggestions:
Lots of articles and books tell us what leaders should do. …
According to a 22-page collision report, Tiger was driving at an estimated speed of 82 to 87 mph and it isn’t known if he was conscious (maybe asleep) when he lost control of his vehicle.
There’s more to the report. You can read the various news reports yourself if you want.
My question is: Does it matter to you?
If you were writing about Tiger Woods, how much time would you spend on this single incident?
My Book About Tiger Woods was in development before this crash occurred. We thought his life as a great golfer, athlete, entrepreneur, and philanthropist…
“911. Do you need police, fire, or medical?”
“A car hit a bicycle. The guy on the bike bounced over the car. They just drove away.”
The caller was breathless as he ran toward the bleeding man lying on the road, his footsteps echoing in the stillness. His headlights pierced the pre-dawn darkness, shining like a spotlight on a sickening scene that was in stark contrast to the sweet night air and a world that was beginning to wake up.
“What is your location?” The dispatcher’s voice was cool, crisp, almost detached.
“Not sure. I’m on State Road 434. …
I saw a news report of a college dorm advisor cautioning other advisors not to refer to Easter when speaking to the students, because not all the students celebrate the holiday.
Have things gotten so crazy that we can’t even mention a holiday that billions of people have celebrated for over two thousand years?
Have people gotten so sensitive that they can’t even stand to hear a reference to a religious holiday they might not observe?
True diversity and inclusivity happen when we celebrate our differences and include each other as we do that. …
One of my most popular stories was this interview with Kim Clark:
The first celebrity to be featured in our My Book About series is Tiger Woods. Does the public have the right to know why he crashed his SUV on Feb. 23?
I’m excited about Illumination Book Chapters, a new publication on Medium. Here’s the first chapter I shared. Watch for more.
You don’t have to give back, just give:

How to Survive an Active Shooter (2nd Edition) is an interview-based book in which an anti-terrorism and security expert answered Jacquelyn Lynn’s questions on what to do if you find yourself in an active shooter situation and more. This is Chapter Two.
Question: Let’s talk about why it’s so important to know what to do if you find yourself in an active shooter situation. Certainly, it’s good to understand the cultural and political issues that are causing the increase in these incidents, but the primary goal of this book is to teach people how to survive if they find themselves…
I love Kim's honesty when she talks about not wanting to do what God was clearly calling her to do. But when she finally did -- wow!
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has announced that the cause of the crash has been determined, but detectives won’t release details due to privacy concerns for Woods. According to news reports, Villanueva said:
“A cause has been determined, the investigation has concluded. We have reached out to Tiger Woods and his personnel. There’s some privacy issues on releasing information on the investigation so we’re going to ask them if they waive the privacy and then we will be able to do a full release on all the information regarding the accident.”
Villanueva called the crash “purely an accident.” …
Sometimes God whispers. Sometimes He speaks loud and clear. And sometimes we don’t want to hear what He has to say. But when we listen and are obedient, amazing things happen.
Kim M. Clark is a perfect example of this test of faith. Here’s an edited transcript of our recent interview.
Jacquelyn Lynn: How did you come to write your book, Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze?
Kim M. Clark: As our family walked through a trial, the Lord told me to write a book of the sweet words of comfort He spoke to me. Writing was the last thing I…
